University of Colorado Boulder AP credit

What each AP score earns at University of Colorado Boulder for 2026-2027: 38 exams, credit shown in semester hours. Always confirm with the school before you plan your schedule.

Rules that apply to every exam

  • AP credit is evaluated upon receipt of an official score report from the College Board.
  • No credit is granted for an AP score if the student has completed an equivalent college course.
  • When AP credit fulfills an Arts & Sciences General Education or CMDI Core category, students are advised to fulfill that category with a CU Boulder course and use the AP credit as elective credit.
  • There is no guarantee that AP credit will apply to a specific degree program; the dean's office of each college and school makes the final determination.
