Rules that apply to every exam

Exam credit posts to a JHU transcript only after an official score report is submitted to JHU.
Exam credits must be earned no later than the year the student is admitted to the university.
Arts and Science students may not use exam credits to fulfill foundational abilities requirements; Engineering students may.
If a student earns credit for an equivalent JHU course, the exam credit is disallowed and its credit value is converted to zero.
Transfer students' high school exam credits follow the same policies as students admitted directly from high school.

AP Chemistry	5	8	AS.030.101, AS.030.102, AS.030.105, AS.030.106Labs AS.030.105 and AS.030.106 included. Earning AS.030.101/AS.030.105 at JHU forfeits all 8 AP credits; earning AS.030.103 forfeits the AS.030.102/AS.030.106 credits.
	4	4	AS.030.101, AS.030.105Students with a score of 4 should take AS.030.103 to complete introductory chemistry and retain AP credits; taking AS.030.101/AS.030.105 at JHU forfeits the AP credits.
AP Computer Science A	5	3	EN.500.112Applicability to a major's programming requirement is set by that department. Credit is lost if a Gateway Computing course (EN.500.112, EN.500.113, EN.500.114) is later earned.
